As the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Business Society it is

important we take the time during Black History
Month to recognize and support the Black-owned businesses around us. This blog post aims
to shed light on why it is impactful to support
local Black-owned businesses and how to do so.
Why Should You Support Black-Owned Businesses?
1. Reducing Economic Disparities and Fostering Empowerment
Historically, Black communities have faced systemic barriers to economic
advancement, including discrimination in access to capital, resources, and
opportunities. Supporting Black owned businesses helps to address these
disparities and by providing them with the resources and support needed
to thrive. By patronizing these businesses, individuals can help create jobs,
generate wealth, and foster economic growth within these communities.
2. Promoting Diversity and Inclusion
Supporting Black- owned businesses promotes diversity and inclusion in
the marketplace. It helps to create a more equitable business environment
where businesses owned by people of all backgrounds have an equal opportunity
